Pneumatic Valve Maintenance Knowledge and Installation Details | Fleyenda

How to make pneumatic valves have a longer service life and stable performance, the following factors need to be paid attention to:

1. Clean the debris and iron filings in the pneumatic valve with clean water before use.
2. When the pneumatic valve is closed, there will still be some residual medium in the valve. The power and air source must be cut off and then cleaned to completely release the pressure in the valve body.
3. Valves generally use sealing materials to prevent leakage and wear, and the sealing materials need to be cleaned regularly.
4. The nuts and bolts on the flange must be tightened to prevent uneven contact between the flange surfaces, resulting in damage or cracking of the gasket surface and leakage of media from the valve flange butt joint.
5. If the valve is operated in the open air for a long time, the valve and components will rust, which may make the valve unable to be used normally. Therefore, maintenance and testing are required to ensure stable operation of performance. If the pneumatic valve is used for a fixed period of half a year or a year, the actuator needs to be lubricated regularly, so as to better maintain the actuator and extend the service life of the actuator.

Pneumatic control valves are usually a combination of a pneumatic actuator and a control valve connected, installed and debugged. The installation and debugging of pneumatic control valves is extremely important. This article mainly introduces the installation details and techniques of pneumatic control valves:

1. During the installation process, the installation instructions and precautions for pneumatic control valves should always be followed.
2. The working environment temperature of the regulating valve should be (-30 ~ +60), the relative humidity should not be greater than 95%, and the relative humidity should not be greater than 95%.
3. There should be straight pipe sections at the front and rear of the regulating valve, with a length not less than 10 times the pipe diameter (10D), to prevent the straight pipe section of the valve from being too short and affecting the flow characteristics.
4. Before installing the valve, read the instruction manual. The instruction manual introduces the product and the safety matters and precautions that should be noted before and during installation.
5. Confirm that the pipeline is clean: Foreign objects in the pipeline may damage the sealing surface of the valve or even hinder the movement of the valve core, ball or butterfly plate, causing the valve to fail to close correctly. To reduce the possibility of hazardous situations, clean all piping before installing the valve. Confirm that pipe dirt, metal debris, welding slag and other foreign matter have been removed. Also, inspect the pipe flange to ensure a smooth gasket surface. If the valve has threaded ends, apply a high-grade pipe sealant to the male pipe threads. Do not apply sealant to the female threads because excess sealant on the female threads will be squeezed into the valve body. Excess sealant will cause the valve core to jam or accumulate dirt, causing the valve to fail to close properly.
6. Carefully check that before installing the regulating valve, check and remove all transportation stops, protective plugs or covers on the gasket surface, and check the inside of the valve body to ensure that there are no foreign objects;
7. The regulating valve should be installed on a horizontal pipe, and vertical to the pipe. It should generally be supported under the valve to ensure stability and reliability. For special occasions, when the regulating valve needs to be installed horizontally on a vertical pipeline, the regulating valve should also be supported (except for small-diameter regulating valves). During installation, avoid placing additional stress on the regulating valve).
8. Make sure there is enough space above and below the valve to easily remove the actuator or valve core for inspection and maintenance. For flanged valve bodies, ensure that the flange faces are accurately aligned so that the gasket surfaces contact evenly. Century Star introduced that after the flange is aligned, lightly tighten the bolts, and finally tighten the bolts in a staggered pattern.

Precautions when storing, installing and using pneumatic control valves:

1. This valve should be stored in a dry room. Both ends of the passage must be blocked and storage is not allowed.
2. Regulating valves stored for a long time should be inspected regularly to remove dirt, and anti-rust oil should be applied to each moving part and processing surface to prevent rust.
3. This valve should be installed on a horizontal pipeline, and must be installed vertically with the valve stem upward.
