Ball valves employ a ball to control the flow of chemical media. Rotating this hollow and pivoting ball a quarter turn (90 degrees) around its axis either opens or blocks the flow. Ball valves deliver reliable, air-tight sealing in the closed position, even after long periods of inactivity. Their simple designs make ball valves low maintenance and easy to operate. They are ideal for leak-tight shut off of corrosive and aggressive fluids.

Owing to their relatively simple design, check valves can operate with very minimal intervention needed. The flow velocity of the fluid determines the degree to which the valve opens or closes. Butterfly valves are designed to isolate or regulate flow. The so-called ‘butterfly’ is a metal disc mounted on a rod. In the closed position, this metal disc is positioned perpendicular to the flow. A quarter turn opens the flow and intermediate rotations enable throttling. Butterfly valves can be operated manually, pneumatically or electronically. They are suitable for use with corrosive liquids at low temperatures and pressures.
